Cablevision Enterprise VPN Connections     

Cablevision is now utilizing the Cisco AnyConnect SSL VPN Client. This client is much more robust and has far fewer compatibility issues than the previous client. If you are a Cablevision Full Time Employee, Non-Employee Full Time Consultant or Vendor, and you use a Mac please follow the directions below.

(NOTE: MSG Employees should NOT use this software!)

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  • Familiarize yourself with the 'Terms to Remember' on the RSA Support Main page.
  • DO NOT proceed any further until you have received your RSA Token.
  • DO NOT proceed any further unless you have configured and tested your RSA Token.

SSL VPN Client Software for MAC OS X

This software is compatible with Apple Macintosh OS x, however Users who have OS X Lion (10.7) or later should see this page before following the instructions below.

Installing the SSL VPN Client:

Users who feel comfortable installing/configuring the software can use the "Quick Start" (text only) steps below, or the "Detailed Instructions" (step by step with images) further down.

Quick Start

  1. Open Safari (or other browser) and navigate to https://vpn.cablevision.com
  2. Sign in using your VPN UserID and RSA Passcode
  3. Click yes or OK when prompted to install the VPN client software.  You may need to allow pop-ups for installation to complete.  Once installation is complete you will be connected to the VPN. You can now close your browser if you wish, it will not disconnect you from the VPN.
  4. Create a Launch Bar Icon for the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client by clicking in the AnyConnect icon for the running application in the Launch Bar, and select ‘Keep In Dock’. For future VPN sessions you can simply click the icon to start the VPN client.

 

Detailed Installation Instructions

1. Open Safari (or other browser) and navigate to https://vpn.cablevision.com

2. Enter your VPN user ID and an RSA passcode to login.

 

3.1. You might be prompted to accept the site certificate. Click ‘Trust’.

3.2. The client installation will begin.  You may be prompted to allow the installation to take place.

3.4. You might be prompted to enter your local computer username and password in order to allow the application to make system changes.

3.5 You will see this window while the application configures your Mac.

3.6. Once connected, your browser will display the image below indicating so. If you wish, you can now close your browser without being disconnected.

3.7 You will also see the AnyConnect Client Icon in the Launch Bar.

4. Create a Launch Bar Icon for the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client by clicking in the AnyConnect icon for the running application in the Launch Bar, and select ‘Keep In Dock’. For future VPN sessions you can simply click the icon to start the VPN client.

 

Detailed Login Instructions

These instructions assume that you have completed the VPN client installation instructions above and that you have logged out of your initial VPN session.

1. Start the VPN client by clicking the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client icon on your Launch Bar (as seen above in step 3.7), or by selecting: Go / Applications / Cisco / Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. Once the application opens, in the ‘Connect to:’ field it should say:  ‘vpn.cablevision.com’. If for some reason it doesn’t, you can type it in manually. The Press Select!

 2. Enter your User ID in the "Username:" field and your RSA Passcode in the Passcode: field. Then press ‘Connect’.

 3. Once connected, the application will minimize to the Launch Bar.

 

4. To disconnect, or to see other VPN statistics, click the icon in the Launch Bar, and will see the VPN Client window. You can then press Disconnect.
